If there’s only one thing I’d want to do better for the year ahead, it’s LETTING GO.
Hey, Richard Carlson said it best when he said, “Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff” (and made millions in book sales along the way).
I hereby surrender my desire to control things that are beyond my control.
Caffeine, you win. I shall imbibe thee whenever I please. Resistance is silly.
Seremban, you win. I shall gracefully remain here till hubby is done with his training. No more whining about missing Kuching.
Obnoxious patients, you win. For crimes against humanity that we public doctors commit (like making you wait 90 minutes in the clinic or postponing your elective surgery), I shall facilitate your complaint submission by directing you to the relevant authorities.
Selfish Malaysians, you win. I shall not judge you for pushing and shoving in elevators, LRTs, trains. I shall not utter a single expletive when you drive dangerously and inconsiderately.
Well-meaning friends and family, you win. I shall not dismiss you with a p**s off ! when you try to meddle with affairs of my life. I know in the end you only mean well.
Streamyx, you win. Nuff said.
Wow, I feel lighter already.
Happy New Year!

YL, life’s too short to be sweating over the small stuff.
Dobbs, I had to let go…otherwise I’d still be obsessing over the petrol incident!

Jun, Asian portion for us pint-sized Asians! New year was spent battling an impending viral flu. What a start to the year.
Eve, you’re so right. I’m exactly the sort of person who obsesses over stuff, hence the need to “let go”.

Well written, agree if only we can not let these things upset us, we will be spared lots of unnecessary heartaches, that we can’t possibly escape anyway! Do let me know if you succeed in mastering these resolutions!

He he Lostsheep, you can check back here in a year’s time if I were a happier person because I “let go”!
