Woke up this morning feeling chirpy. It’s a holiday in this state! Made big plans to shop and dine in KL, but pretty soon things started to degenerate.

My husband’s family house in Klang had been burglarised. We rushed back to find a house virtually turned upside-down - drawers emptied, clothes strewn everywhere, locks broken. The thief made off with my backpack which presumably was used to stash his loot. He even changed into my hubby’s clothes and MIL’s trainers (leaving his shirt and sandals behind) and helped himself to some cookies in the kitchen before escaping.

Where else is safe these days?

  1. Sorry to hear about that. When our house got burglarised (many years back when my sis-in-law stayed here while hubby was away in Australia for a year) the burglar took one of my cushion covers to carry away the loot! Good thing my mum found the same material for a replacement. The cheeky burglar even took away one of my cross-stitch pictures with the word “Welcome” on it!!

  2. Luckily no one was hurt?… Last time my MIL’s office was burglarised oso..few laptops gone…after police reports were made ,the policemen came by to look see…and carted away a few reams of F4 papers for their own use..Beladi hell…They are even worse than the robbers…

  3. Aiyo, such a terrible thing to happen. You think our local CSI can lift DNA from apparels left behind?

  4. My house in KK was burglarised a few years back too. Same thing- the thieve made a mess, open all drawers & went through our suitcases. also took away few bottles of wine, leaving behind the boxes. I guess the most important thing is that no one is hurt.

  5. It should be thieves, forgot the ’s’ :)

  6. Dobbs : A burglar with an appreciation for pretty things, ha ha!

Eve : No one was in, fortunately. Maybe they need the papers as “evidence”!

Jimbo : The cops came and snap, snap (with a digital compact camera) as a formality. Took the garments left behind but doubt there’d be any CSI work to follow!

Flora : Are they cirrhotic now?

  7. waaah….so unsafe one ah in Klang…and i thought Subang Jaya was bad.

  8. Docperineum : Kuching still the best, huh? I once left the keys on the door overnight and nothing happened.

  9. My house got a break-in a few months back.
    With us sleeping upstairs soundly!
    That is the scary part

  10. Yenjai : Thank God! Well, it’s our safety that matters most.
